Selection Tournament For 12th KPMC

Dear members, a selection will be held on 15th July 2017 (Sat) to select a representative player for the coming 12th KPMC (Korea Prime Minister Cup International Amateur Baduk Championship), participation is open to all MWA members, the winner the be selected to represent Malaysia to compete in 12th KPMC in Korea.

Selection Tournament info:

  • Date/Time: 15 July 2017 (Sat) , 2pm – 6pm
  • Venue: Kongzi Institute, UM
  • Eligibility: Open to all MWA members (must hold a Malaysian passport)
  • Champion will be selected to represent MWA in 12th KPMC 

12th KPMC Info:

  • Event: The 12th Korea Prime Minister Cup International Amateur Baduk Championship
  • Date: 9th to 15th of September 2017
  • Venue: Julpo Bay Tidal Ecological Park in Buan County, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea
  • Host Organization: Korea Amateur Baduk Association (KABA)
  • Invited Participants: 76 countries/territories
  • Tournament rules: 6-round Swiss system, Komi 6.5 points, 40 min + 30 sec 3 times
  • Expenses:
    • Accommodation and meals will be borne by organizer
    • Organizer will pay 70% of air fares (up to max USD350)

34th World Youth Goe Championship Selection Results

Selection Tournament – 34th World Youth Goe Championship

The 34th World Youth Goe Championship is going to be held in Chiangmai, Thailand, on July 18-23, 2017. This tournament will be organized by The Go Association of Thailand in cooperation with The Chiangmai Go Club.

We are invited to participate in this coming event, and therefore will organize a selection tournament to choose the representation players.

3rd South East Asia Go Championship

3rd_seagcThe South East Asia Go Championship (SEAGC) is an annual event involving participants from South East Asia countries, each and every country’s weiqi association will take turns to organised the event.

This year the 3rd South East  Asia Go Championship will be hosted by Brunei Darussalam Go Association, they are planning to held the tournament from the 2nd to 6th December, 2016.

 

 

MWA is invited to participate in this coming event to send 2 teams of 4 players each and 2 team leaders as West Malaysia Team. The team must be of Total Rank-Cost not more than 4-dan.

Event: 3rd South East  Asia Go Championship (Brunei)

Date: 2nd to 6th December, 2016

Venue: Bandar Sri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam

Participating Teams: Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia (West Malaysia), Singapore, the Philippines, Myanmar, Laos, Sarawak (East Malaysia) and Cambodia.

MWA members who are interested to participate in this tournament please contact us to register. We will organised selection tournament if they are more than 8 interested participants. Due date for registration is before 30th Sept 2016.

Please note that participants need to pay a Participation Fees of SGD100, and take care of their own return air ticket to/from Brunei International Airport. the organiser will covers accommodation and meals from 2nd to 6th Dec.

 

 

10th KPMC International Amateur Baduk Championship

The 2015 10th Korea Prime Minister Cup (KPMC) International Amateur Baduk Championship is going to be held in Seoul city, Korea, on November 22-27, 2015.

Date: 22-27 November, 2015

Venue: Seoul, Korea

Invited Nations: Representative players from 73 countries/ territories

MWA is going to organize a selection tournament on 19 Sep (Sat), at Kongzi Institute, UM to select a representative player for the 10th KPMC. MWA members who are interested to joint the selection tournaments please contact Mr. Tiong for more info.

Please note that the host organizer will cover 50% of air-ticket, & all official expenses (meals, accommodation) during tournament period.

11th Nanning Weiqi Tournament

The 11th China(Nanning)-ASEAN Weiqi International Invitational Tournament

Organizer: Nanning Sports Administration & Training Center, Guangxi Weiqi

Date: October 26th -30th, 2015

Location: Yongjiang Hotel, Nanning, Guangxi, P.R.China

Participation:

  1. Countries and Regions Invited: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the United States, Japan; Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Chinese Taipei. One team should be sent from each invited countries and regions.
  2. Two teams should be sent to represent Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Nanning city respectively.
  3. Each team includes 3 players (2 male and 1 female) with no limit dan grade, and one of the three should be the team leader.

36th WAGC

The 36th World Amateur Go Championship in Bangkok

Dear members, please take note that we are invited to send 1 player to participate in the coming 36th WAGC in Bangkok. MWA will hold a selection tournament to choose the representative for this event:
