名称
马来文名 Persatuan Weiqi Malaysia，英文名 Malaysia Weiqi Association，中文名马来西亚围棋协会。本站简称 MWA。国际围棋联盟会员名录写作 Persatuan Weiqi Malaysia。
两个年份，分开记载
本会旧站记载：1990 年代，一群吉隆坡围棋爱好者开始联络国内同好，希望组成能够整合并推广围棋活动的协会。
同一页以及本会 Facebook 简介写明：在各地棋友支持与筹备之后，马来西亚围棋协会（Persatuan Weiqi Malaysia）于 2003 年成立。
另一方面，国际围棋联盟马来西亚页将 Persatuan Weiqi Malaysia 列为普通会员，入会年份 1987。该页未填写成立年份。名录电邮为 kstiong@pd.jaring.my（此处标明为 IGF 名录，并非本站信箱）。
我们不把 1987 与 2003 写成同一个起源故事。IGF 名录中的入会年，与本会自行公布的成立年，同属公开纪录，只是回答不同的问题。

本会使用的社团登记号为 PPM-003-14-10122003。2025 年公开赛信头写作无分隔的 PPM0031410122003。本站会址与电话即取自该信头（蒲种金銮）。

A group of weiqi enthusiast in KL started to connect with people who likes to play weiqi in Malaysia during the ’90s with the intention to form an association that can consolidate and promote weiqi activity in the country.

马来西亚围棋运动总会 / Malaysia Weiqi Sport Association（MWSA）是不同的组织，于 2020 年 8 月向马来西亚体育专员注册（K-PRK-10298）。段位与考试资讯在其自己的网站公布。本域名不是该会。 weiqisport.com.my
