Malaysia Dan Certification Competition

This competition, organized by the Malaysia Weiqi Association and co-hosted by the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Weiqi Association, is now open for registration.

The event is limited to students who have achieved KGS 5 kyu or a higher rank. Only 40 slots are available for participants, and the top 8 students in the tournament rankings will receive a 1-Dan certificate from the Malaysia Weiqi Association.

Congratulations to the winners of the Asian Go Championship 2023! They put up a great performance in the tournament!!!

Special Announcement of 1st Malaysia Go Master Title Championship

Due to unexpected increasing number of COVID cases, the 1st Go Master Title Championship will be postpone.

However, friendly matches will be conduct online on the date of 26th and 27th Feb 2022, We welcome all MWA members and everyone to participate in this tournament. Let us have some fun before our championship, and bring along your friends for this Pre-matches.

1st Malaysia Go Master Title Championship

Great news, Malaysia Weiqi Association (MWA) is organising the 1st Go Master Title match in Malaysia. Winner of this tournament will carry Go Mater title of the year 2022.

The tournament will be held on 26th – 27th Feb 2022 in Atria Shopping Gallery. We welcome all MWA members to participate in this tournament, only the top 64 participants will be selected to participate in the day-1 tournament, then the top 16 players will be competing in the day-2 tournament to fight for the top positions.

Qualification
All amateur Weiqi players outside of China. Professionals are refused.

Tournament Rules
– Every match is played online at Tygem.
– Taking the 2002 Chinese Weiqi Rule, black gives 7.5 points komi.
– Taking integral arrangement, the specific round number will be informed after all registration.
– Each game each side has 45 minutes, after with 30 seconds 3 times byo-yomi.
– After registration it is forbidden to drop games, dropping for one game will be knocked out.
– Cheating is seriously forbidden, when cheating is confirmed, the player will be noted on the list of broken promises and will be banned for participating in any games for 3 years.
– Players need to prepare video record during every personal game in case of the inspection. The video needs to record both PC screen and player. To avoid appeal without consideration, each appeal requires 200 RMB deposit, once succeed it will be return.

Prizes
– Rank 1: 6,000 CNY
– Rank 2: 4,000 CNY
– Rank 3: 2,000 CNY
– Rank 4-8: 1,000 CNY
– Rank 9-16: 600 CNY
** All prizes are tax-included.

All participants will receive certificates and electronical Weiqi studying materials.
